The Toronto Scandinavian

This small 1950s house in the heart of Toronto was transformed into a bright, Scandinavian inspired family home, designed as a calm contrast to the pace of city life. In a dense urban setting, balancing generous natural light with privacy was a key challenge, requiring close collaboration between architecture and planning.

The house was fully renovated, with the floor plan opened up and extended to include a new kitchen, living room, and dining area. Large windows face a sheltered garden with a pool, blurring the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The result is a home filled with light, openness, and a strong sense of calm, offering a place to unwind after a long day in the city.
